Blue1 adopts ReadWeb technology
Blue1 is the first airline in the world to adopt the ReadWeb technology, with which it is possible to hear the contents of web pages. The objective is to help those who face difficulties in reading texts from the screen for reasons such as dyslexia, or similar problems.

The spoken performance is equally useful for those with weakened eyesight.

The technology is provided by the Norwegian Voice ASP, who specialise in the development and utilization of speech-based solutions. Initially, the technology will be used on the Finnish, Swedish and English pages meant for Finns. Finnish language support is a new conquest for Voice ASP.

The ReadWeb function is to be used on most pages of the Services, Travel Info and Blue1 sections that contain useful information for passengers. In the future, the ReadWeb function may be added to other sections of the site.

Blue1 has launched its website in seven languages. In addition to the Finnish, Swedish and English pages, the Blue1 world is now available in Norwegian, Danish, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian.

Aiming at a larger European customer base, the Finnish Blue1 airline has chosen Translations.com as a partner in localising the site and providing technical support.
