Virgin America to launch Boston services
Virgin America announced (08-Dec-08) it will serve Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) with daily flights from the West Coast beginning 12-Feb-09. Boston will be the eighth city in the airline’s route network.

Virgin America plans to fly from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to BOS with two daily roundtrips and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to BOS with three roundtrips.

Virgin America President and CEO David Cush said, “Boston is one of the world’s premier cities and travel markets, and is a perfect fit for our award-winning service and urban point-to-point, transcontinental business model. We thank the state, city and airport for their support and warm welcome, and we can’t wait to introduce our upscale, high value service to Boston travelers - especially on the SFO-BOS and LAX-BOS routes that until today offered no low fare competition.”

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick said,  “This new service links two global leaders in the innovative economy with daily flights from Massachusetts to California. Given the challenging national economy, this is an important endorsement of the economic power of Massachusetts.”
