Virgin America appoints new senior vice president for technical operations
Virgin America announced (19-Feb-09) the appointment of Rick Wysong as the airline's Senior Vice President of Technical Operations. An industry veteran with more than 23 years of experience, Wysong will oversee the airline's technical operations.

 

Wysong most recently served as Vice President of Engineering, Materials and Planning at United Airlines, where he led Engineering, Supply Chain and Fleet Management operations for the carrier and oversaw 600 employees. Previously, Wysong served as the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Budgets for United's technical division, based at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Wysong also held the position of Vice President of Revenue Management at United's Chicago headquarters.

David Cush, President and Chief Executive Officer of Virgin America said,
"Rick's experience overseeing large and complex technical operations and his familiarity with our home base at San Francisco International Airport will be invaluable as we continue to grow our fleet and operations in the years ahead."
