Vueling Airlines increased its February load factor by 2.4 percentage points, growing from 64.6% in 2008 to 67.0% in 2009. In keeping with its improvement plan, Vueling operated an average of 16 aircraft in February, down from 23.5 on a year earlier, concentrating them on serving the most profitable routes.
During February, Vueling became the second-largest operator in the Barcelona-Madrid route, supplying one in every five seats available, and an average of 11 daily flights on every sense of the route on any working day.
Revenue per flight optimization remained Vueling’s main commercial goal. In that regard February’s revenue per flight level kept on being - once again - above the one obtained in the same month one year earlier.
