Southwest Airlines confirmed (10-Feb-06) the departures of the following executives:
Jim Wimberly (53), Executive VP Aircraft Operations. Retired at the end of 2005 after 20 years. Remains under contract as a consultant;
- Replaced by Mike Van de Ven, a 12-year veteran, most recently Senior VP of Planning;
Dave Ridley (53), Senior VP for People and Leadership Development. Left in early Feb-06 after 18 years. Also has the option of continuing to work as a consultant;
Replaced by Jeff Lamb, formerly reported to Mr Ridley as a Senior Director Learning and Development Group;
- Beverly Carmichael, VP of Labour and Employee Relations. Joined Rockwell Collins after 10 years, most recently as the carriers lead labour negotiator;
- Replaced by Joe Harris, a labour lawyer with a long history of representing Southwest. <>
