Wizz Air opens new route to Venice/Treviso from Prague
Wizz Air, the largest low cost low fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced (24-Jun-2009) that it would launch a new service between Italy and the Czech Republic. Flights from Prague to Venice/Treviso will be launched on 20-Sep and operated 3 times a week. The new services will complement the already announced routes operated from the Ruzyne Airport to 15 in total.

Wizz Air remains committed to the Czech market. The customers now benefit from the lowest fare guarantee that the airline introduced in response to the economic downturn. Wizz Air has been continuously adding new routes and increasing frequencies on the existing ones and as it was announced previously, the airline will base two of its brand new Airbus A320 aircraft in the Czech capital in the course of the next two weeks. In August, Wizz Air will retain 19% of the total LCC market in Prague, taking the second position and it is well on track to become the largest low cost airline in the Czech Republic in 2010.

Executive Vice President of Wizz Air, John Stephenson said, “We aimed at becoming the low cost airline of choice for the Czech Republic right from the start. Should competing airlines airlines go bust Wizz Air will step up and replace them. Effectively we have been already doing so.”

One way all inclusive fares start from as low as EUR12.49.
