Spain's clickair moves into Scotland
clickair, which launched LCC scheduled air services to Spain from London Heathrow earlier this year, is expanding to Scotland. From 01-Aug-07 it will launch daily service from Barcelona, clickairs home city, to Edinburgh.

Tickets go on sale today, with fares from EUR20, one way, all taxes included.  The route will be operated by dedicated Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 180 soft-leather Recaro seats.

This new clickair route joins its existing UK flights connecting Seville, Valencia and La Coruna with London and Barcelona with Dublin.

The airline stated is network is expanding rapidly and its looks forward to announcing further developments to the UK and Ireland markets soon.

clickair is Europe’s youngest and fastest growing airline.  It recently accepted its 15
th Airbus A320 and by the end of June will have 17 in the fleet, deployed on 50 destinations all over Europe and into Africa.

clickair launched scheduled operations on 01-Oc-06 with three 180-seat Airbus A320 jets.  By mid April it had flown its millionth passenger.  clickair will have 23 A320s in service by the end of this year and in 2008, clickair expects to be serving 70 routes to 55 destinations in Spain, the British Isles, Europe and North Africa, carrying nearly 10 million passengers.  

clickair is backed by five Spanish companies, each with a 20% share of the equity:  Iberia, Nefinsa (parent of Spanish regional airline, Air Nostrum),  Spanish construction group Cobra, hotel and resort company Iberostar and Quercus Equity (a private equity fund, part of the Agrolimen Group).  clickair has its headquarters at Barcelona El Prat Airport.
