Tiger Airways celebrates twice daily flights with special fares

Today Tiger Airways Australia launches its second daily service between Melbourne and Hobart. Tiger Airways has been flying into Hobart since January 2008 and since then has grown their services to up to three per day by adding Adelaide-Hobart and now doubling their Melbourne-Hobart flights.

Shelley Roberts, Tiger Airways Australia Managing Director, says “it’s exciting to be adding services and doubling the number of flights on our popular Melbourne – Hobart route in response to demand for our consistently lowest airfares.”

Hobart Airport Chief Executive Officer Brett Reiss congratulated Tiger Airways on their move “It is pleasing to have Tiger growing their Hobart services. We know that our passengers want more services to more destinations all year round, and this service increase from Tiger assists in delivering this”.

Mr Reiss added that “Hobart Airport has a great partnership with Tiger Airways and is looking forward to extending that even further into the future”.

Tiger Airways has already carried nearly 200,000 passengers between Hobart and Melbourne, and with a doubling of capacity the next milestone is just around the corner.

Tiger Airways is celebrating the additional Melbourne-Hobart flights today with a special double flight deal of two airfares for $50 for two passengers travelling together, giving passengers no excuse not to go. The sale starts today (Friday 5 February 2010) and runs until midnight Thursday 11 February 2010 (or until sold out), for travel in February and March 2010).
