The new contract commenced in Mesa, Phoenix and will see WFS take over services at the remaining cities of Billings, Bismarck, Cedar Rapids, Colorado Springs, Eugene, Fargo, Sioux Falls, Grand Island, Great Falls, Wichita, Rapid City and Rockford between February and May 2010. There are plans to extend the contract to additional cities and services in small town America by year’s end and the announcement will be forthcoming.
Allegiant awarded the contract to WFS following a competitive tender process based on the combination of value and quality of its bid plus Worldwide Flight Services’ experience of providing operations in smaller communities and its track record for successfully managing large-scale implementation projects. Prior to winning this latest contract, WFS provided handling for Allegiant in Bozeman, Montana.
Under the terms of the new agreement, WFS will provide services for over 170 Allegiant flights a week.
Glenn Rutkowski, Senior VP Passenger Terminal Services for WFS in North America, said: “WFS is honored to have been chosen by Allegiant Air as its preferred ground handler in these stations, delivering quality passenger and ramp handling services to regional locations. Allegiant Air is providing essential airline services to communities with limited access and WFS is proud to be part of that operation.”
