MC Aviation Partners (MCAP) announced today that MCAP and Air Berlin have signed a purchase and lease-back agreement for three new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The first delivery already took place in January 2010; the upcoming aircraft are scheduled for delivery in May and August 2010. All three aircraft are powered by CFM56-7B24 engines.

“We are pleased to announce this valuable transaction for Air Berlin and have thus laid the foundation for a new important partnership between the two companies,” commented Ulf Hüttmeyer, CFO Air Berlin PLC.
