Blue1 pilots issue a strike warning

On 3 June 2010, the Blue1 Pilots Association has issued a strike warning and related overtime ban. Blue1 is preparing for disruptions in labour and making every effort to ensure normal flight operations through alternative service arrangements.

Blue1 Oy feels that the Pilots Assocation action is illegal, as Blue1 and the Blue1 Pilots Association have a collective labour agreement which is valid until the end of February 2011.

Joint negotiations begun at Blue1 in mid-March are still incomplete where pilots are concerned.

The basis for joint negotiations with pilots comprehends operational restructuring, the closing of a leasing agreement for two Avro RJ85 aircraft as well as the reorganisation of flight operations related to the introduction of a new aircraft type.
