Jetstar announces new daily services from Launceston to Melbourne and Sydney

Launceston Airport welcomes Jetstar’s announcement to expand its future operations into Launceston by 40 percent, introducing new daily services from Melbourne and Sydney in December 2010.
Jetstar will increase its existing return services between Launceston and Melbourne from three-times daily to four-times daily from 10 December and double its Launceston to Sydney return frequencies to twice daily from 2 December with the addition of a new conveniently-timed early evening return flight.
Launceston Airport General Manager Pamela Graham said that she was pleased with Jetstar’s commitment to increase the capacity between Launceston, Melbourne and Sydney “These additional services offer greater choice for the northern Tasmania community through increased frequency and a more evenly-spaced schedule. In particular, Jetstar’s decision to double services between Launceston and Sydney will be extremely beneficial for business travellers – allowing for same day returns direct between the two cities.”
“We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Jetstar and working together to ensure that Launceston Airport is serviced by direct flights to Australia’s busiest hubs at competitive prices,” she said.
