The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, AirAsia X landed at the swanky Terminal 3 of IGI airport yesterday and the momentous touch down marked the completion of its route network in India from Kuala Lumpur.

New Delhi is AirAsia X’s 10th destination worldwide and the 2nd in India after Mumbai.

In an official celebration to celebrate the inaugural flight today, AirAsia will be offering fares from as low as INR 1*. This amazing low fare open for sale for the booking period for 7th – 8th August 2010 for the travel period beginning 10th August – 30th September 2010. The launch of services to Delhi not only signifies the completion of AirAsia’s India launch but also adds considerable strength to the tourism between both countries. AirAsia X’s launch of services will open up the ASEAN market along with many destinations beyond with their unrivalled low-fares.

Guests flying on this new route will have the chance to experience the new comfortable ‘Premium flatbed seats’ on the brand new A330 aircraft. The flatbed seats are standard business class specifications of 20” width, 60” pitch and stretches out to 77” in full recline position. The seats feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen. This new improvement offers unmatched comfort to the guests and position AirAsia as the market leader, further bolstering the brand as the epitome of innovation and excellence.

Jointly, the AirAsia Group will now have a total of 120 flights weekly to the various points in India which include Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochin, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai (to Kuala Lumpur and Penang).
