Ryanair introduces priority boarding

Ryanair announced (18-Oct-06) plans to implement online check-in and priority boarding for passengers for a charge of

GBP2, at UK airports, or EUR3, at European and Irish airports, effective 01-Nov-06. The carrier will also extend existing priority boarding and seat selection options available at airports, allowing passengers travelling with checked-in luggage to use the service for a GBR2/EUR3 charge.

The service was previously only available to passengers without checked-in luggage. Ryanair will no longer offer free pre-boarding to families with children, but will offer online check-in and priority boarding to families if travelling without checked luggage or priority boarding purchased online or at airports.
