AUSTRALIA : Virgin Blue Airlines has announced (11-Feb-09) it will launch five brand new services between a number of ports on its network including daily return flights between Canberra - Hobart, Canberra - Townsville, Townsville - Gold Coast, Townsville - Rockhampton as well as Townsville - Cairns. The new services will all commence from 06-Apr-09. AirTran Airways expands Milwaukee operations
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA : AirTran Airways announced (10-Feb-09) that the airline will increase capacity and expand its Milwaukee operations by more than 40% with new and extended service. In May, the airline will begin daily nonstop flights between Milwaukee and the following four new destinations: Branson, Mo; St. Louis, Mo; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn; plus seasonal service to Denver, Colo. The new flights are part of the carrier's strategy to expand service from General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee and bolster travel options for local residents. AUSTRALIA : Gold Coast Airport welcomed (05-Feb-09) the first inbound Jetstar service from Cairns, linking Queensland’s two destinations. The direct flights between Gold Coast and Cairns will operate three times weekly, and in addition to an expected increase in domestic travel, the service will also provide a direct link for Japanese visitors wanting to visit multiple destinations in Queensland. |
